Ik ben Lou Bastiaans, 21 jaar en Dordtse kunstenaar.
Met mijn werk wil ik mensen bereiken en zorgen voor verbinding. Ook wil ik mensen informeren over onderwerpen die ik belangrijk vind. Mijn werk bestaat voornamelijk uit Illustraties, digitaal en analoog, en het maken van video’s, zowel geanimeerd als live-action. Maar eigenlijk geloof ik dat ik alles kan, ik ben een oplossingenzoeker. Mijn stijl wordt gekenmerkt door de vervloeiing van het natuurlijke en het digitale, het menselijk lichaam en mijn kenmerkend kleurgebruik. Materialen waar ik graag mee werk zijn olieverf en houtskool, maar ook hier ben ik fluïde in. Waar ik goed in ben is het overbrengen van complexe ideeën naar een vorm die behapbaar is voor het publiek. Ik vind het fijn om te werken met ingewikkelde en polariserende kwesties. Mijn werk is onder andere geschikt voor kranten, sociale media, musea en marketing.

With my work, I aim to reach people and create connections. I also want to inform people about topics that I find important. My work consists primarily of illustrations, both digital and analog, and video production, both animated and live-action. But actually, I believe I can do anything; I am a solution seeker. My style is characterized by the blurring of the natural and the digital, the human body, and my distinctive use of color. Materials I enjoy working with are oil paint and charcoal, though I am fluid in my approach to these as well. What I excel at is translating complex ideas into a form that is accessible to the public. I enjoy working with intricate and polarizing issues. My work is suitable for newspapers, social media, museums, and marketing, among others.
